Position: Mechanical Artisan Assistant (Non-renewal 6-month contract)

Division: Transport & Fleet - Workshop Vehicle and Maintenance
Salary: R4 356 per month
Core Responsibilities:
- Helps mechanic perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil change, checks tires and brakes, replaces spark plugs and engages in other similar tasks
- Assists mechanic with electrical systems such as replacing batteries, starters, and light.
- Cleans the workshop and returns tools to proper location.
- Maintains inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
- Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Updates maintenance and repair log sheet for vehicles.

Minimum Requirements:
- N1 in Mechanical Engineering/Motor Mechanics
- Working knowledge of the languages and dynamics of the City
- South African Identity Document.
- Resident of City of Ekurhuleni (specify Ward).
- Young person 18 -35 years, but men and women over 35 years will be considered
- Ability to communicate with communities.
- Ability to read and write
- Interpersonal and Communication skills
