Procurement Chemical Buyer [Belgium]


 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemicals Buyer to work across the Kingspan Group. The main purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with procurement team members and cross-functional teams to develop and execute a chemicals category plan, build supply base options, ensure continuity of supply and drive value beyond price initiatives to ensure competitive cost base and deliver functional and business objectives. The location for this role is flexible as you will be working across the Group.

What will you be doing?

· Assisting the Procurement Director to develop the strategic sourcing plans for Chemicals which take into account both demand and supply-side considerations.

· Engage with internal stakeholders in order to generate ideas and opportunities and ensure the category plans are aligned to functional and business targets.

· Lead and take responsibility for delivering key initiatives that support the business.

· Regularly review impact of economic, trade flow and commodity movements on the categories, assessing trends and providing insights to Procurement team and business partners of underlying cost drivers

· Apply appropriate tools and techniques to segment suppliers for the different chemicals, understand supplier financial performance and analyse supplier and market capacity and constraints

· Conduct sourcing and tendering activities and support negotiations of commercial terms and T&Cs.

· Keep an accurate and up to date central database for Chemical prices, stocks, demand forecasts, consumption, coverage, contract balances and cost savings for all companies within the Kingspan Group.

· Lead regional & local site chemical procurement reviews with site Operations Manager, Chemists, Financial Controllers and R&D teams as required

· Provide month end report in-line with the financial calendar covering chemical cost equalisation, cost savings and rebate accruals.

· Ensure suppliers are compliant with KINGSPAN policies and measure compliance.

· Deliver the chemicals category objectives as defined by the Procurement Director.

· You will also need to be able to build robust, realistic and accurate budget and forecasts for the Chemicals Category under direction from the Procurement Director, manage the risk associated with the category spend, utilising market intel to assess risk, recommend action, manage market volatility and optimise cost. In addition you will add value by identifying and executing activities to achieve total cost of ownership savings, track category performance, risks and opportunities vs plan and make recommendations to the business.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Education, Behaviour.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or significant experience required.

· Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Procurement and Supply Chain

· Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procure-to-Pay and Procurement Systems

· SAP expertise desirable

· Category expertise for the category or sub-categories

· Commercially driven and results focused

· Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills

· Strong negotiation skills

· Strong planning, practical implementation and project management skills

· Strong influencing skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong team working and collaboration skills

· High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

· Ability to embrace and apply leading edge tools and techniques

· Able to develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and potential new partners, engage a complex range of internal stakeholders in the business and work well with Procurement Managers in other regions to leverage potential Group opportunities
