APS6 - Systems Administrator, Service Desk

The National Library of Australia is seeking to fill the important role of APS6 System Administrator, Service Desk. This is a great opportunity to provide your technical expertise to support the National Library’s service desk.

You will manage and coordinate service desk processes through the resolution of complex service desk enquires.

You will apply your knowledge of a range of application software, desktop computing, Standard Operating Environments (SOE) and IT infrastructure.

Using your in-depth IT knowledge and expert advice, you will:

  • Respond in a concise and timely manner to service issues and requests.
  • Ensure that IT Security and Change Management Policies are followed.
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging IT security issues and IT trends.

You will be responsible for preparing documentation, correspondence and reports that conform to legal and procedural aspects of their functional responsibilities.

You will identify develop, manage and maintain a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships and internal and external networks. You will also identify and support a range of program areas.

You will build high level expertise with Library’s information technology stack and infrastructure.

To be suitable for this role, it is desirable if you:

  • Hold qualifications or equivalent extensive experience in Windows SOE administration.
  • Hold qualifications or equivalent extensive experience in Exchange administration.
  • Have the demonstrated ability to write PowerShell scripts
